SolarBuddies ☀️

As much as I love it when the sun comes out, I dread the moment I have to apply sunscreen on my wriggly cherub.  It wasn’t so bad when he was less active, but now I end up with more cream everywhere else than on him.  I’ve even tried spray ones to see if it’s any easier but no joy.

The struggle is so damn real, so of course when I saw the SolarBuddies applicator, I was curious to find out more.

It was designed by two mums, for children to be able to apply sunscreen themselves in a safe, convenient way without an adult. Although my little one is not quite ready to apply it himself,  the ‘no mess’ concept of it attracted me to it and I have been using it to apply sunscreen on one year old since receiving it.

As shown in the picture above, it’s made up of three parts, Orange, White and Blue.

The Orange part is filled with your desired sunscreen, (it can hold up to 100ml) the White part which has a rollerball surrounded by a sponge is then screwed on to the Orange handle. You simply hold the Orange Handle and glide the applicator over the skin, the rollerball dispenses the sunscreen as it moves. The sponge helps to rub it all in.  Once done, you can put Blue cap back on to keep it all tidy.

Now, although this still wasn’t an easy process to do on a 1 year old, it was much less messier than having it all over me. I can see how great it would work for when he’s older and he can apply it himself, which is exactly what the product is designed for.

I have to say it is very well thought out. The smart design ensures there is limited wastage and mess, there’s also a space on the white part to write a name. For me, the portability of it is a huge bonus, the size allows it to fit easily into a backpack, lunchbag or nappy changing bag. The orange body is easily washable which is very handy.

One applicator costs £7.00 or you can get two for £13.00, replaceable heads are also available for as little as £3.00

I was kindly sent this product to review and as always all views are my own.
