I had the pleasure of being invited to attend the first of the #BristolZooTwilights at Bristol Zoo Gardens..
Truth be told, I was never too keen on Zoos as they’ve always conflicted me with the whole animal welfare aspect. However, I was interested to learn about all the conservation work Bristol Zoo do and have been doing ever since it first opened. It’s good to hear real facts and to actually see the animals in a happy environment.
We were taken behind the scenes to see some animals close up and we also got to see how the crocodiles are fed which usually never happens with the public around.
We had an opportunity to try some food from the menu at The Hide which is the newly refurbished restaurant within the Zoo. The menu has something to suit all tastes, we sampled salads of different types, Pizzas, Fish and Chips. I loved the decor of the restaurant, set out in a safari theme. I tried the vege options and thoroughly enjoyed them.
If a sit down meal isn’t your thing the outdoor bbq and the live music were definitely a key highlight, creating a great atmosphere at the centre of the zoo.
The experience is such good value for money and a great way to kick start the weekend, I love the idea of twilight openings especially for the 9-5 workers!
Bristol Zoo Twilights are running up until 17th August every Friday 6pm-10pm. For just £5 entry you get to experience the zoo in all its glory. Use this booking link to grab your ticket, but be quick as they sell out fast. 🙂
