Glossy Box – May

My review on May’s Glossy Box.

Glossybox is a monthly subscription service. Five deluxe beauty miniatures have been carefully selected by a team of beauty experts and delivered straight to your door. The content and theme of the boxes are a surprise. Glossybox uses the beauty profile to send you products most suited to you. The value of the products you receive are always worth more than you have paid for.

It’s the first time I have tried a Glossy Box subscription or in fact any beauty box subscription.  My expectations were limited as I had no idea what it would entail, (you can tell I done minimal research before trying). So here goes;

This month’s box contained five products; three of which are full size.

Contents of May Box

Etre Belle Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturising Gel RRP £15.93 – This particular product is described as a moisturising, hydrating and soothing gel.  I had never heard of this brand before it arrived so I took it away with me on holiday to test out.  I must say it was very soothing on my sun exposed skin however it’s slightly on the pricey side compared to other Aloe Vera products available out there.

MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes RRP £6.95 – The MeMeMe Enchanted Eyes wand is a dual ended eye crayon. I received the ‘midnight storm’ which is two different shades of blue, one end being a metallic deep blue shade and the other end a brighter blue.  The texture is smooth and it’s easy to apply even for me!  Blue seems to have made it’s way back in for the eyes but unfortunately it doesn’t suit me as much as I would like. Personally, I would’ve preferred a more neutral colour, but I can see it suiting many a face. 🙂 Overall, a nice product, I would like to try MeMeMe lip crayons next

The Zerreau Towel Off Shampoo Foam RRP £3.95 – This is my favourite product in the box. I don’t usually like the idea of using dry shampoos, on the few occasions I’ve had to while travelling. Dry shampoo always seems to leave some powdery remains in my hair and makes it feel too dry, so much so that I would rather just somehow wash it than use Dry Shampoo. This however is magic, once you apply it to the hair, it leaves it slightly damp which you can dry off with a towel. Left the hair smelling fruity and actually feels clean. I definitely will be taking this along with me on journeys from now on. : – )

The SASS Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate RRP £12.00 – This product has the right idea by promising me it will minimise hair growth. I have used it a couple of times after shaving/waxing, it feels nice and smooth but it’s still early days to see any other benefits. I think i will continue to use it until it finishes because I really want it to show me something. 🙂   I don’t have a problem with ingrown hairs so it won’t be much use to me in that respect.

Renewed Hope in a jar, refreshing & refining moisturiser  RRP £35.50 – I wasn’t too excited about this product and I have only used it the once.  That’s mainly due to the fact that I not a fan of straying away from my usual moisturisers but to be fair and honest I am going to continue using it.  The texture feels nice and soft but the smell was a little odd, however it does moisturise well and it made my skin feel smooth but I think a few more uses will show what it’s actually doing for me. My skin can get quite dry around the cheeks, this felt nourishing enough in that respect.

Overall, I wasn’t jumping with excitement with the contents of this box. However, on a positive note I have discovered some new brands which I shall continue to explore and I am in love with the Foam Shampoo which shall be my new travel buddy. Looking forward to receiving my June box. : – )
